I hope, for Notre Dame’s sake, that their application for the Big Ten distances themselves as far as possible from the “We are ND” music video. It’s so bad that the unintentional comedy scale is through the roof. Aside from the singing, attempts at rapping, beat, melody and lyrics, the song is pretty good.
It’s sooooooooooooooooo bad that I won’t watch it a second time, even though it’s filled with cheerleaders. You know something is awful when even numerous gratuitous cheerleader shots can’t make it viewable. I think Brian Kelly and Mike Golic should somehow digitize themselves out of this.
Watch below:
If you want to make a cheesy college football video to pump up your fanbase…hire someone WHO KNOWS HOW TO MAKE MUSIC. Northwestern made this music video “Go U NU” in ‘08, and off all the names he mentions, about a half-dozen have had NFL careers. Watch below
I would say “We r ND” is just as shameful and embarassing as the L.A. Rams ’80s cheese “Ram it.” Although this video has 200,000% more bad sexual innuendo. So what have we learned from all this? That’s it’s frightening how I immediately thought of two more football music videos off the top of my head (and neither were the Super Bowl Shuffle) when I saw the ND crapola. If there is anyone on Earth with more useless knowledge than I have…my heart goes out to them.

Tyreke Evans of the Sacramento Kings, Brandon Jennings of the Milwaukee Bucks and Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors were unanimous selections to the 2009-10 T-Mobile NBA All-Rookie First Team, the NBA announced today.
Rounding out the T-Mobile NBA All-Rookie First Team are New Orleans’ Darren Collison (46 points) and Chicago Bulls’ Taj Gibson (41 points).
The 2009-10 T-Mobile Rookie of the Year, Evans averaged a rookie- and team-leading 20.1 points, as well as a team-high 5.8 assists (2nd among rookies) and 5.3 rebounds. Evans joined Oscar Robertson, Michael Jordan, and LeBron James as the only players in NBA history to average at least 20 points, five rebounds, and five assists in their rookie seasons. Among rookies, Evans also was first in minutes (37.2 mpg) and second in steals (1.51 spg), while leading in free throws made (348) and attempted (465).
Jennings, a four time T-Mobile Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month selection (October/November, December, January, March) ranked third among rookies in scoring (15.5 ppg), assists (5.7 apg) and steals 1.28. Jennings announced his presence as a top rookie early on, rattling off a 55-point game on Nov. 14 vs. Golden State.
Curry, a three time T-Mobile Western Conference Rookie of the Month selection (January, March, April) ranked second among rookies in scoring (17.5 ppg) and finished first in assists (5.9 apg), steals (1.9 spg), minutes (37.2), free throw percentage (.885) and three-point percentage (.437). Curry’s 166 three-pointers made led all rookies.
Collison provided steady point guard play for the Hornets in place of injured incumbent Chris Paul, ranking among the top 10 for rookies in scoring (sixth – 12.4 ppg), assists (T-third – 5.7 apg) and steals (sixth – 1.03 spg). Collison was named the T-Mobile Western Conference Rookie of the Month for February.
Gibson gave the Bulls a frontcourt boost, leading all rookies in rebounding (7.5 rpg) and field goal percentage (.494), while placing second in blocks (1.27 bpg). The durable Gibson, who averaged 9.0 points in his first season, appeared in all 82 games for the Bulls, making 70 starts.
The T-Mobile NBA All-Rookie Second Team consists of New Orleans’ Marcus Thornton (31 points), San Antonio’s DeJuan Blair (30 points), Oklahoma City’s James Harden (22 points), Minnesota’s Jonny Flynn (22 points) and Detroit’s Jonas Jerebko (22 points).
The voting panel consisted of the NBA’s 30 head coaches, who were asked to select five players for the first team and five players for the second team, regardless of position. Coaches were not permitted to vote for players on their own team. Two points were awarded for first team votes and one for second team votes.

Here's the entire Dez Bryant interview from the locker room...
You have to think nerves played a big part in him being out of sorts out there too. He's now on a huge stage with the Cowboys and he knows the world is watching his first day out at camp. The coaches will get him acclimated to this type of training within time.

Here's Wade Phillips talking about the first day of Cowboys rookie minicamp...
Wade talks minicamp - April 30, 2010
Spoke to Bryan Broaddus earlier today and it seems the QB's were pretty awful this morning. Lots of passes sailing high and wide.
Dez seemed to be making a lot of tough catches out there today which is a great sign. He was winded and out of shape which is to be expected, but it doesn't seem like his hand-eye coordination skills weren't rusty at all.
Cowboys WR Coach has stated today that he would like to see Dez lose about ten pounds. He's 225lb right now so they would drop him to about 215lbs. Should also add some quickness to his game as well.
Heard Sean Lee was wearing a knee brace too. He had said in some recent interviews that he would not be wearing a brace anymore, but it seems the Cowboys want to make sure he's as safe as possible.
AOA is not working out by the way. He's healing up from shoulder surgery. Great to hear Wade talk him up about the white board stuff though because that's the big challenge for him coming in a rookie trying to learn a position that calls for him to make some defensive calls.
From reading the reports over at ESPNDallas.com it seems the CB's were not having a great day.

Last season's third round draft pick is now moving to Left Tackle, read here.
The Cowboys will address their left tackle depth by moving over 2009 redshirt draft pick Robert Brewster to work behind starter Doug Free.
Brewster lined up exclusively exclusively at right tackle last summer until he tore a pectoral muscle just a couple weeks before training camp, an injury which put him out for the season. Since then he's lost weight, and says he's excited about the move.
Not be an alarmist, but these two guys have zero starts at Left Tackle as NFL players.
You have to wonder if that's a wise decision is this is still the way things are come September.

Here's Dez Bryant talking from the locker room earlier today...
First day for Dez Bryant in the locker room and he has to use the phrase 'I don't want to talk about it'.
That's the stuff that has to go away.
And I am sure he will be in a lot better shape for the next camp. The Cowboys training staff will be all over that and I am sure he's willing to do whatever he can in order to show and prove he's ready for the challenge of being in the NFL.

OK.
It's time to clear the air.
Unless you have been living under a rock for the last four days, you have surely heard about the "question."
What was it, you ask?
"Was your mother a prostitute?" Miami Dolphins general manager Jeff Ireland asked Dez Bryant in a pre-draft interview.
On Tuesday, Ireland apologized for the question in an effort to smooth the situation out.
That question was raised after the 2010 NFL Draft's 24th overall pick reportedly said "my dad was a pimp."
Ireland then followed up with the aforementioned inquiry—and all hell broke loose because of it.
So what's the big deal about it?
Bryant claimed that he was treated unprofessionally, and took Ireland's comment to heart.
Is he just making a mountain out of a mole hill?
In all honesty, Ireland's query was not out of line. In fact, the line of pre-draft drilling isn't typically roses and sunshine, according to ESPN's Matt Millen.
Millen defended Ireland just two days ago, before Bryant's comments were released to the media yesterday.
"They're going to hear a lot worse than that on the line," Millen said. So what's with Bryant's long face?
He's denying that he ever said his father was a man that managed the finances of working women. That would be a libelous comment if not true, and the Dolphins organization doesn't want to swim in those waters.
Mr. Bryant, you set yourself up for it. If you said your father was a custodian, and your mother worked for him—Ireland would have asked you if she scrubbed toilets.

By: Joe D.
According to early reports at the rookie practice, Dez Bryant is a spectacular player that catches everything in sight… and he is out of shape taking so many breaks that it calls attention to itself.
There is no reason to press the panic button. It is only one week after the draft, a heck of a celebration party, a week of press conferences, and dealing with a salacious story. But it is only 82 degree in Dallas, with 62% humidity. That is about as nice as the weather gets in Texas.
There were earlier reports of Bryant having an irregular heart beat. The Cowboys physicians were not concerned and neither am I. To find a silver lining, it may suggest that Bryant is the type of player who leaves nothing in the tank for the next play (the anti-Moss).
Bryant must have an internal drive to not only stay in shape, but to improve daily. There are no lazy hall-of-famers. Michael Irvin did his workout, Jerry Rice’s work out, and another’s all in one day. Bryant must tap into this internal drive to be special. Success is the residue of hard work.

Ok. I am pretty sure I made a point last week that the most important thing for Dez Bryant to do right now and going forward is to avoid any all stories about him that are not football related.
That's not happening. And now this...
Well. You have to amdit that if this is the way thing went down it's a whole different ball game.
Why these NFL teams have to know what happened in the lives of these kids all those years ago is still kind of odd to me, but I guess when you are paying that kind of money to a young man you need a picture of his background.
Now we are going to have to talk about who was lying.
And who has the history of lying?
Dez Bryant.
And it seems Dez was pretty out of shape today, but did show that he has great hands,
read here.
Dez Bryant leaned over. He took a knee. He put his hands over his head and crossed his legs. He did his best to keep his breakfast -- eggs, biscuit and two sausage patties -- in his stomach. Bryant has not played since a Sept. 19 game against Rice, and it showed Friday on the first day of rookie mini-camp.
Bryant was winded.
"To be honest, I was kind of excited just because I'm back doing what I love to do," Bryant said. "I was already expecting me to bend over a little, get tired. If you seen me, you seen I was smiling, because I haven't been through that in a long time. It was just a great feeling to get through that little hard time."
There is no doubt Bryant, who made a spectacular one-handed catch, was the star of the day. Cameras documented his every move.
Though he did manage to keep his breakfast down, Bryant definitely was not feeling his best.
"Ask Manny Johnson about last year this day," said offensive coordinator Jason Garrett, pointing out he has seen rookies do this many years. "We have high expectations for how they practice."
I am sure they will be a gazillion more reports on all of this today.
