Joe McKnight declared for the NFL draft after playing just three seasons for Pete Carroll’s Trojans. In doing so, he joins a large group of running backs vying for selection in the 2010 class. Exiting the program, he had no definitive advantage over a plethora of tailbacks appearing no different than the next. But the scouting combine provided a point of separation and opportunity to climb the board.

After writing about the comments made by Tashard Choice today to the San Antonio Express I asked him if he had any follow up comments after reading what I had posted.
Here's his reply to me,
read here.@ just being honest. I'm happy but I'm not satisfied. But God will work it out 5 minutes ago via twidroid in reply to DCFanaticRadio

I don't want the Cowboys to lose a talented young player like this.
Sometimes you just have too many good players at one position and in the 'what's best for the team' theory it comes to a point where the team makes a decision to trade a guy in hopes of getting back some value for him instead of him just sitting back as an insurance policy.
In saying that I am ok with a trade. But I would like to see the Cowboys trade Marion Barber, not Tashard Choice.
Barber is the guy with all those carries on his frame. And he's making a nice bit of money too. I just don't see him staying healthy in the future and I know he's not going to get any faster. I guess I am saying that his best days are behind him at this time.
Don't hate the playa, hate the game.
In this case the game is the NFL and it's business.

If you have been watching the Cowboys play football for the past two seasons then you know that Tashard Choice is a very good football player who deserves more playing time.
But there is only one football to go around. So it's tough to find touches for him unless Marion Barber and Felix Jones are hurt.
That last sentence seemed like a reasonable thought for the past two seasons. But what about 2010? That's the big question right now for the Dallas Cowboys.
Is it time that Tashard Choice moves into the #1 or #2 spot on the RB depth chart?
Tashard had some very interesting, and maybe some will say controversial, comments today when speaking with Tom Osborn of the San Antonio Express,
read here.
Tashard Choice said Sunday he would welcome a trade from the Dallas Cowboys if it meant a chance to show he can be a No. 1 running back.
"I love being in Dallas, but I just know I should be playing more," Choice said during an appearance at the Dallas Cowboys Grilling Products FanFest at the San Antonio Events Center. "When we lose and I don't get much of a chance, I'm sick."
That is nothing more than a very competitive person just wanting to do what he's loved to do since he was a little kid - Play Football!
It has to be frustrating sitting on the sidelines all game watching Felix and MBIII going in and out of the game. I get it completely. And I get it even more when we all saw how good this kid is when he did get his opportunities to play while they were out with injuries in the past.
"All I look for is to help my team win, but there comes a time when you want more opportunities to run the football," Choice told the Express-News before Sunday's event. "It's nothing against the other backs, but I just know I can play. I just feel like I should get the ball more, that I should be in the offense more than I was last year."
Choice later told fans during a question-and-answer session "there are a lot of teams trying to get me" because "they think I can be their featured guy."
Of course there are teams out there who would love to acquire Tashard and make him their featured RB. But this is the exact reason the Cowboys don't want to let him go. Who wants to give away good football players? And even better is the idea that no one wants to give away good football players when they are an excellent insurance plan for two guys who have shown to get dinged up here and there.
Asked about his role as the trigger man in the Razorback formation, the Cowboys' version of the Wildcat, Choice suggested he thinks offensive coordinator Jason Garrett hasn't utilized it correctly.
"It's a cool formation," Choice said. "But when you don't have many plays coming from it, (opponents) know what you are running. (The Razorback) creates a lot of mismatches, but you have to have a wrinkle. You have to throw the ball. You have to run to both sides."
Choice has two years left on the contract he signed as a rookie in 2008.
"I'd love to stay here and have a major role," he said. "I can play, man. I love Barber. I love Felix. But I don't want to play only when they're hurt."
I wish these comments were not made publicly. If anything I would love for Tashard to voice his opinion privately to Jerry and Stephen. But I understand that he just wants to play ball. He knows he can do it and so do we.
And there are plenty out there who think he plays the game on a higher level than Marion Barber does these days. I am in that group of people.
Is he better than Felix? That's a much different story. Their games aren't as similar. Felix is a home run hitter because of his long speed so I won't go as far as saying Tashard should be getting more work than Felix next season.
But I do think he should be moved ahead of Marion Barber on the depth chart.

Myron Rolle gets a lot of publicity because his academic prowess combined with his football skill are such a rare combo.
If you are a Cowboys fan you should keep an eye on him because he could be targeted by the Cowboys this April...
Myron Rolle on Sirius NFL Radio - Feb 28I like how he's willing to play the deep Safety spot. He's either going to help his draft position a whole lot on Tuesday with a strong showing in the 40 or he's going to remain somewhere around the 2nd or 3rd round if he runs something average.
Most draft boards list him as a Strong Safety, but like most Safeties these days they are interchangeable between FS and SS depending on what day of the week it is.

If you were to sit down with Jeff Gordon, he would probably tell you that his life is perfect.
He’s got a great job, a great family, and is in great health and anyone would be blessed to have all that.
But if Gordon told you that his life was complete, he would most likely be lying. [...]

I have a little sister named Jessica.
Technically, she’s not my little sister. She’s my wife’s little sister, so—to cite Forrest Gump—we are not (fraternally) related. However, Jessica has been calling me her brother ever since I married Catherine back in 2002. Which, by my estimation, makes her my sister. Not my sister-in-law or my little sister-in-law. Just my sister.
Today, Jessica turns 21. Which blows my mind. When Catherine and I first started dating, Jessica was 10. I still remember meeting her. We were at a restaurant. She rubbed my shaved head and called me “Fuzz.” I told her I was going to give her a rap nickname, and came up with “Dr. Dre.” Though the “Fuzz” tag vanished long ago, I still refer to her as “the Doctor” or “Doctor.” For some reason, this gives me great satisfaction.
I have experienced many things through my life, but few as educational (and rewarding) as having a little sister. Through the years, I’ve watched (often between my fingers, with my eyes squinted real tight)
the Doctor grow from a little girl to a full-fledged adult. I’ve screamed for her at football games (she was a cheerleader before hurting her knee) and lectured her on the evils of cigarettes (Catherine: “Do you think lecturing a teenager does any good?”). I’ve cringed as she dated some tool with a purple octopus tattoo (she now has a very cool boyfriend) and celebrated as she graduated high school and moved on to college. When I think of the Doctor, I think of lighting a candle at her Bat Mitzvah; of hearing her cry (quite often) on my wife’s shoulder; of watching her hold my baby daughter for the first time; of seeing her scoot down 15th Street on her Razor; of her praising the genius that is Jesse McCartney (”He’s absolutely amazing!”) and calling Saw III “the best movie ever!” Last April we went skydiving together, an experience that, I believe, has served as an extremely tight bond. You fall 13,000 feet together and live to tell, well, you’re blood.
Mostly, I think of all the times she said something that made me later turn to the wife and say, “That girl is truly special.”
Once, several years ago, I paid the Doctor a terrible insult. She was in the midst of some sort of teen angst, and in a moment of pure idiocy I told her I hope my daughter doesn’t follow her path. To hell with that. I can now say with 100-percent sincerity that if Casey grows up to have the heart and compassion and decency and love and pure, unadulterated goodness of my little sister Jessica, I’ll consider myself a success.
Happy Birthday, Doc …

Is it me or do people put way to much thought into the overtime rules in the NFL? We have heard the arguments for years. Should things stay the way they are? Should teams get at least one possession in overtime? Should a team win by at least a...
