Apparently, I have angered the exceedingly low-brow God of search engines; AND the sports media pantheon of the lowest common denominator. They are demanding a sacrifice, so he we are:
A day will come soon when Erin Andrews must relinquish her title as Sideline Queen, and two crown princesses, both named Jenn, are the leading contenders to the title. So who will it be?
Ms. Sterger, the Versus Network personality who became famous for nothing more than wearing a $11,000 boob job and a Cowboy hat? (And who may have been the recipient of Brett Favre SEXT messages)
Or will it be Ms. Brown, the ex-Florida Gators softball player-turned bikini model-turned ESPN’s Colt McCoy beat reporter? Who causes servers to crash every time she tweets.

To paraphrase ’80s crap-rock artist Tommy Tutone “Jenny, Jenny who will horny internet sports nerds turn to?” in the next few years.

It appears ESPN sideline princess Erin Andrews, the ultra-famous reporter rumored to be dating Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, will renew her contract at ESPN.
According to the USA Today
TV sports has no free agency periods or trade deadlines, so on-air roster moves can hit anytime. The latest:
•Erin Andrews and ESPN have tentatively agreed to a new deal to replace her current one, which expires this week. ESPN executive Norby Williamson, declining to say how Andrews’ on-air roles might change, says, “We hope to have a deal signed soon.”

In other EA news, Vanity Fair recently had a sit-down with her, and the interviewer/writer George Wayne made himself look like a low-brow freak show by asking questions such as:
I understand. You have been a victim of cyber-perversity — and, most impressive of all, you have rebounded in astounding fashion. Is there anything you would wish upon that man, Michael Barrett, who filmed you naked last year?
I am not going to answer that. The only thing that I would like to do is make sure people do not make a mockery of stalking and stalking victims.
I’m sure you have toned perfectly, too, with all that dancing. But what gets me to the vomitorium is that faux romance between you and that cheesy ballroom-dancing partner of yours. What was with this tabloid fake romance?
Do you know him?
I don’t need to know him to find him cheesy, honey.
Well, all I know is he was a wonderful dance partner and a wonderful human being who looked out for me, who would call me each night after practice to see if I was O.K.
What is the one thing you take when feeling constipated?
Andrews: “Are you really going to write about that? I’m not going to comment on that. That is kind of weird and I don’t feel comfortable answering that question. I have gone through so much in the last year.”
Yeah, I had the same reaction- what a freakazoid! But I guess he’s following the Paris Hilton school of any publicity by any means necessary is somehow deemed good publicity. I’m an old fashioned guy- I think you should only make headlines when you accomplish something.

So now that Erin Andrews, the Sideline Princess of all Sideline Princesses has completed her third place finish on ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars,” where will she land next?
Like I said in my last feature on Erin Andrews, now that Andrews has our sympathies, from the stalking nightmare and the death threats, her star power is a much bigger sell now. She can easily go from college sports regular, to a steady NFL sideline gig or doing the biggest headliner NBA games on ABC/ESPN. Or higher; leave cable for national network. Her agent can use the victim card in her favor, and that will upgrade her from internet/sports geek fantasy girl to mainstream hottie.
But where specifically? I got the idea from Craig Sanger’s Washington Times Communities column “Erin Andrews next job should be…”
By Paul M. Banks

I have no idea why people were so shocked by Erin Andrews’ third place finish on DWTS. She was a member of the Dazzlers, the Florida Gators dance team. We were reminded of this by ESPN when they aired this clip, which prompted the eternally annoying Dickie V. to say “she’s still a dazzler, ARE you kidding me!”
So she’s a great dancer- I guess. I don’t really know whether a given female is good at dancing or not, I just know if she looks good (or not) while doing it.
I may be bereft of choreography knowledge, but I do know EA is a big upgrade in substance over Burke at the DWTS position. Mostly because Burke long ago crossed over into skank/bimbo land and Andrews has not. (Elisabeth Hasselback may disagree with me, but who cares? Hasselback has been firmly entrenched in mentally challenged land for pretty much her whole life). EA is still both “cute” and “hot,” while Burke is just “stripper hot,” nothing more.
BB is a bonafide skank because she’s done three things in her life Andrews has not: 1.) taking the bucks to pose nude. 2.) Doing the whole dissolving her marriage with the very successful regular guy in order to help her career by shacking up with the famous Hollywood stud (Yes, the fact that I know Hollywood gossip like this makes me quasi-gay. I’m aware of that) 3.) acquired big fake boobies.
And then here’s the kicker- Andrews is way better on camera on Burke. Yes, both have likely been fodder for millions of masturbation fantasies, and that hotness they both possess has MUCH to do with how they got to where they are today, but Andrews is way better on camera than Burke.
BY FAR. It’s obvious, so if EA takes the gig, she’d be:
a.) sideline reporting on…not an actual sport, but a physical activity, and one that she has working knowledge of, having placed third on the previous season and being on the UF Dance team.
b.) giving ABC a chance to expand that specific role on DWTS because she has more range in her skill set than Burke. This past season featured EA and Nicole from PCD, two of the 10 hottest women alive, and Pamela Anderson, who was insanely hot about 20 years ago. So I’ll freely admit that I am well versed in the format of this crappy show.
c.) taking a step up by going to national network tv.

Weber Serving as Assistant Coach in NABC Senior All-Star Game
Weber on sidelines once again with former mentor Keady
Champaign, Ill. – Bruce Weber is an assistant coach in the 2010 Reese’s College All-Star Game, which will take place Friday at 3:30 p.m. CT. The game is part of the Final Four weekend in Indianapolis and will be played at Lucas Oil Stadium. CBS College Sports will televise it live.
The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) has selected rosters for the game, featuring some of the top seniors in the nation. Weber and Purdue coach Matt Painter will serve as assistants under former Purdue head coach Gene Keady for the Reese’s All-Stars, who will take on the Hershey’s All-Stars. Former Indiana State head coach Bill Hodges will coach the Hershey’s squad, assisted by Jeff Jones of American and Seth Greenberg of Virginia Tech.
Players on the Reese’s roster are Jerome Randall (California), Tre’von Hughes (Wisconsin), Chris Kramer (Purdue), Michael Roll (UCLA), Tyren Johnson (Louisiana-Lafayette), Aubrey Coleman (Houston), Patrick Christopher (California), Dominic Calegari (UC Davis), Art Parakhouski (Radford), Eric Boateng (Arizona State) and Bryan Davis (Texas A&M).
The Hershey’s roster, meanwhile, includes Scottie Reynolds (Villanova), Deonta Vaughn (Cincinnati), Jermaine Beal (Vanderbilt), Rodney Green (LaSalle), Edwin Ubiles (Siena), Lazar Hayward (Marquette), Ryan Wittman (Cornell), Robert Glenn (IUPUI), Jeff Foote (Cornell), Gerald Lee (Old Dominion) and Adam Koch (Northern Iowa).
This is Weber’s third time coaching in the NABC Senior All-Star Game. Last year, Weber led the Reese’s All-Stars to victory over the Hershey’s All-Stars at Ford Field in Detroit. Weber also directed the Senior All-Stars to victory over the Harlem Globetrotters in 2006 at Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

By Paul M. Banks
DePaul needs a splash hire to revive their dormant program; and ESPN’s Steve Lavin could be it. The Blue Demons need someone to come in and convince local talent to stay home and start something, and I’m not convinced SIU’s Chris Lowery or Jazz Assistant (and former Blue Demon) Tyrone Corbin is that someone.
Then I saw this on the Twitter account of CBS’ Seth Davis yesterday:
“Some dish on DePaul job: Steve Lavin and Craig Robinson are interested. So is Isiah Thomas, but admin cool to him. Sleeper is Tony Barbee. 3:17 AM Mar 1st via TweetDeck
Lavin declined to comment on this situation.
Thus far, Lavin’s “World Wide Leader” star power makes him the most interesting name in the job mix. Here are the pros and cons:
Why this would be a good fit
-Chicago is a very attractive location for any prospective coach, but especially so for an individual so familiar with the area. Most of the games that Lavin calls on ESPN are Big Ten games, and Chicago is unquestionably the capital of “Big Ten Country.”
-He already has Midwest ties (serving as an assistant on Gene Keady’s Purdue staff from 1988-1991) which would help in recruiting an area that’s a hotbed of prep talent.
-Going from UCLA to DePaul is somewhat akin to Ron Zook going from Florida to Illinois (where Zook goes from here is obviously anywhere but up, but that’s another story). The expectations are much lower, the pressure is off, and victory is defined by much smaller goals.
-During Lavin’s tenure as head coach, the Bruins qualified for six consecutive NCAA Tournaments. Making Lav one of two coaches (also Mike Krzyzewski) to have led his team to five Sweet 16s in six seasons. Lavin’s record in the first and second rounds of the NCAA tournament is 10-1. His first weekend of the tourney winning percentage (90.9%) is second only to Dean Smith.
-Lavin lead his team to victory over the No. 1 team in the country in four consecutive collegiate seasons (Arizona ’03, Kansas ’02, Stanford ’01, and Stanford ’00.
-Lavin has a chance to rebuild a program that was once proud in the ‘70s and ‘80s. And with the exception of Ray Meyer, he could easily surpass the accomplishments of any DePal coach in recent memory without doing a whole lot.
Why this wouldn’t work
-Lavin has a sweet gig right now that thousands of broadcasting professionals would KILL for. He even gets to spend a ton of time traveling around the nation with super-babe Erin Andrews. Would you want to give that up?
-Coach Lav’s coaching style certainly has its share of critics. Baron Davis called him out recently. And there is a wide perception (justly or unjustly) that his practices at UCLA were glorified shootarounds.
-One of the most popular UCLA blogs, Bruins Nation, referred to him as “the Blagojevich of College Hoops,” and their opinions reflect negative memories that many UCLA fans have of his tenure in Westwood.
-While DePaul resides in the prestigious Big East conference, and their campus is located in the upscale Lincoln Park neighborhood, the Blue Demons also play their home games at Allstate Arena which is located adjacent to O’Hare international airport; WAY out there for any college student living on campus. And, let’s be honest here, many college students require getting extremely drunk before attending home games (DePaul’s less than .100 winning percentage in conference recently doesn’t help) and that’s very difficult to do when your home gym isn’t easily accessible by walking and public transportation. And that arena is far from state-of-the-art to begin with.
So how much of an attraction would this program truly be to Lav? Especially after the bright lights of Bristol and college basketball’s most storied program; located in Hollywood nonetheless.

That really is the only story here. Lindsey Vonn is the only point to this post…well maybe the greater objective is to improve this site’s Search Engine Optimization. (By the way, I’m currently reading a book on that topic- riveting stuff!) But let’s just celebrate the fact that she’s ridiculously hot. Like Charissa Thompson, Jenn Brown, Erin Andrews level caliente.
And I’m not trying to step on the toes of Sports by Brooks or Busted Coverage here. And yes I know that American skier Lindsey Vonn has won gold and bronze already in this Olympics. I know she’s a very serious, very accomplished athlete who overcame an injury of some sort to get this far. I know she’s currently in a media-created faux feud with her teammate Juila Mancuso, another accomplished skier who is very easy on the eyes herself. But let’s not forget the main point here: Lindsey Vonn is scorching hot! And that gives us a reason to publish more pictures of Lindsey Vonn.

Although I have to admit she wasn’t very impressive on her Colbert Report appearance. She kind of came off like an immature sorority girl after too many wine coolers
